]]> http://www.greatgriffinfarm.com/2013/02/congratulations/feed/ 0 January 2011 Updates http://www.greatgriffinfarm.com/2011/01/2011-january-show/ http://www.greatgriffinfarm.com/2011/01/2011-january-show/#comments Wed, 05 Jan 2011 22:53:02 +0000 Alison http://www.greatgriffinfarm.com/?p=98 The 2011 show season has started off with a bang!  A big thank you to all who made the Toys for Tots toy drive at the Lake St. Louis Holiday Horse Show a huge success!  Over 600 toys were collected for needy children in the St. Louis area.  Thank you to the US Marine Corp, who sent three wonderful Marines to help with the collection and presentation.  Also, Griffin Farm would like to thank Baskin Farm, The Tack Trunk, and Purina Mills for their sponsorship of the event.  What event would be complete without great food?  Thank you to Liz Landis and her staff at the National Equestrian Center for the great food!

Congratulations to the grand raffle winner, Taylor Flury, who won the feed donation graciously provided by Purina Mills.  Plans are already being made for next years event, we look forward to you joining us!

In horse show news, Primera scored a 3rd Place finish in the $10,000 USHJA Hunter Derby and was reserve champion in the brand new High Performance Hunter Division.  Other champions and reserve champions included: Tina – Children’s Hunter I Champion; What A Prince – Short Stirrup Equitation Champion; Babaganoush – Level 3 Jumpers and Level 4 Jumpers Reserve Champion.

Upcoming shows include Lake St. Louis January I and II – January 5 – 16, Lake St. Louis February I – February 2 – 6, and Gulfcoast Horse Shows, Gulfport, MS – February 16 – March 13.

Around the farm, new footing has been installed in the indoor arena, increasing the comfort for our horses, and the new outdoor arena continues to take shape.  This spring will bring a new parking area, the new outdoor ring will be completed, and additional landscaping improvements.
